Federal Regulations mandate that professional specimen collectors complete two (2) training components before conducting urine specimen collections for DOT drug testing (49 CFR Part 40).

Training Supply Information
- Before Attending a Proficiency Demonstration Class:
- Must complete the online Procedures/Qualification training course. Click here for online Procedures training info
- In the live class (Component 2), students must complete:
- Five (5) consecutive, error-free mock collections observed by a qualified Collector Instructor/Monitor
- Upon completing both components, students receive a Certificate valid for 5 years.

Additional Requirements
- Show proof of online training Certificate of Completion before attending live session.
- Bring your own DOT split collection kits and CCFs from your lab.
- If unable to procure supplies, CTS may provide them for $45 per student, based on availability.
- Recommended: Complete both training components (online course + webcam proficiency) within 30 days.
Important Notes
- No part of the training fee is refundable if you fail to meet prerequisites (e.g. online course not completed).
- Rescheduling with less than 3 business days’ notice may require paying the full fee again.
